The Process

What to Expect When Filing a Claim

A lot has changed with homeowners claims in the last few years. In the past you would be assigned a claims adjuster to inspect your loss and provide an estimate for repairs. Now you are in charge of obtaining estimates of damage to send in, or the insurance company may send an unlicensed inspector to take pictures of your home and forward to their main office for review. The insurance companies are trying to cut costs and place the burden on you and your contractor. Most of the contractors don't have the ability or time to write a proper insurance estimate for your claim and as a result you are underpaid.

Having Prime Public Adjusting involved from the beginning of your claim is a different process. The insurance company will move the claim to one of their specialty units and will assign a traditional adjuster to work with us. We meet with the licensed adjuster for your inspection and work together to settle your claim properly. From day one, we will handle the phone calls, proof of loss, contractor's estimates, and claim settlement. We will then file supplement requests and schedule reinspections, secure depreciation release, monitor claim compliance and other detrimental items for proper claims handling.
